HLL, a hospital supply chain management company, has ordered to TST the development of the SupplyBox, a product designed to optimize healthcare logistics.

The SupplyBox, a kind of a mailbox with embedded communication technology from TST, incorporates a NFC card reader also developed by TST that recognizes medicament tags that nurses insert when an article is about to expire. The SupplyBox extracts the data from the NFC tag and automatically makes a replacement order to HLL’s software managing the logistics in the warehouse. Communication between the SupplyBox and HLL’s ERP server is done via Ethernet, Wi-Fi or UTMS.

The system is simple to use because hospital staff only have to insert a card in the SupplyBox when they want to make an order. Through a LED, the SupplyBox confirms the correct reading of the card and that the order has reached the central server.

At Sabadell´s Hospital 80 SupplyBox have been installed on the different floors. These devices are managed through a web interface also developed by TST, that provides access to the configuration and statistics of each SupplyBox.
