Harbors

Harbors are industrial areas that demand secure and robust wireless communications. Due to the large areas to cover within the harbor area, it is impossible to reach every spot with wire or optical fiber. There are many wireless applications that can be implementes in a harbor, such as mobile, supervision or remote control solutions. Below we show you some applications that port authorities have requested to us. If you don’t find here a solution for your application, please contact us.

Lighting control

It consists on the remote control of each light of each pylon in order to switch on only those lights that are really needed in loading or unloading operations, minimum lighting at night and so on. Thanks to these systems, electrical consumption can be significantly reduced. Read More...

Remote control of traffic lights

Often traffic lights within the harbor area cannot be centrally managed from the control center. Even in the case of mobile traffic lights we cannot wire them. TST wireless technology makes possible to change traffic lights remotely, as Bilbao’s Port Authority is doing. Read More...

Remote reading of water meters

In order to detect immediately water leaks and high consumptions, it is possible to connect water meters to TSmoTe through a pulse counter to transmit the readings of each meter on a daily basis. Staff responsible receives an alert via e-mail or SMS when the consumption is anomalously high.

Access controls

Entrance and exit from harbor area must be registered by law. TST offers control access systems based on intelligent card technologies and NFC.

We have developed a remote lighting control system for the Port Authority in Santander that makes possible to switch on and off each light of each pylon. Thanks to this system, the Port Authority obtains significant savings because each pylon can be switch on only when it is really needed.

Bilbao’s Port Authority has ordered us the development of a wireless system to control the traffic lights remotely at level crossings. Due to frequency scans carried out by the police, the system must be robust against electromagnetic noise and interferences.
